Both boaters and shoreline anglers are seeing success, though those on the bank are catching more (but smaller) rainbows on PowerBait near the marina. Boaters are finding fish by trolling leadcore (3β4 colors) with dodgers and gold/black Rapalas. Many shoreline anglers are currently catching their limits.
Fish Reports

Anglers are landing many 2β3 pound trout, with fish dispersed throughout the lakes. Lower Twin is currently the standout spot, showing more activity than other areas. Garlic worms, nightcrawlers, and PowerBait are all proving effective.
Fishing has been superb since the season opener, highlighted by the catch of a 7+ pound tagged rainbow and an 8+ pound holdover. Sonora Pass (Hwy 108) is officially opening today, providing expanded access to the region.
Recent releases of roughly 3,000 lbs of rainbows have made the dam and spillway highly productive areas. Anglers are finding success using mini jigs, flicker shads, or slip bobbers rigged with dough bait and Micetails. Overall fishing remains strong with these versatile methods.
Fishing remains excellent as anglers target a variety of species, with a particularly strong bite for kokanee, browns, and rainbows in the Dry Creek arm. Kokanee Power Shasta Derby is scheduled to take place this weekend, May 2β3.

Fishing remains active with 2,000 lbs of rainbows released weekly and lightning trout stocked every other week. Trollers are finding success near the marina, while those using PowerBait on Carolina rigs are doing fair along the campsites.
Striper fishing remains productive with minnows and bouncing cut bait yielding the best results. Chartreuse swimbaits are also producing good catches.
The lake is nearly full with water temperatures holding in the low 50s. Trollers are finding success at depths of 25β35β while moving at 1.2β1.5 mph. Nightcrawlers and trolling flies are currently the most effective baits.
