Kokanee fishing has been highly productive, with anglers successfully reaching their boat limits. The fish are averaging between 16 and 18 inches in length. The most effective fishing depths have been ranging from 40 feet to 60 feet down.

The river will open to salmon fishing on July 16. Both boaters and bank anglers can expect to battle quality Chinooks while fishing plugs and spinners.
Expect the shad fishing to pick up in the section from Chico to Red Bluff soon. Fishing with shad flies or small jigs with plastic grub tails is very productive.

Many catches on smaller spoons, try 2.5g DFB spoons where river bends
Boaters are finding success using bright pink 4.5g spoons. The best action is occurring near weed lines within the coves on the south side of the lake.
