The American River is fishing well for stripers and small steelhead. Stripers are spread out, so move around if you’re in a boat and try swimbaits, jerkbaits, or A-rigs. For catfish and bigger stripers, soaking bait in the slower, deeper holes is the way to go. Stay patient and cover water for the best chances at success!
